Job summary

KLA Industries in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to take full ownership of the income tax function. You will lead the tax provision process for financial reporting, oversee return preparation with external preparers and internal staff, and coach a team of tax accountants.

You’ll drive process design, controls, risk management, and service levels, continuously improving how the work gets done while partnering with auditors and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 6+ years of tax experience in public accounting or corporate settings.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• CPA or master's in taxation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of tax accountants through coaching and supervision.
• Own the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision.
• Oversee federal and state income tax return calculations and filings.
• Review FIN 48 and UNICAP positions.
• Respond to notices from taxing authorities and coordinate with auditors.
• Research tax information for management and external parties.
• Support related areas including sales, property, payroll tax and incentives.
• Map and re-engineer tax processes to improve efficiency and controls.
