Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Manager in the Core Tax Services practice, located in Seattle, WA. The role focuses on advising clients on tax implications of business objectives, evaluating actions to reduce tax burden, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

You will serve as the primary client contact for complex tax issues and contribute to marketing and business development in your area of specialization.

Qualifications

• Five (5) or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required
• Prior supervisory experience, required
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required
• Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software is preferred

Responsibilities

• Advises clients on tax implications of business objectives and communicates potential risks and changes in tax policy
• Manages tax compliance process including budgeting, staffing, timing, and billing
• Identifies when research is needed and frames issues to be researched; reports analysis clearly
• Applies ASC 740/FIN 48 and related firm policies to income tax provision and uncertain positions
• Develops and implements efficient methods to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes
• Supervises and trains associates and seniors, delegating work effectively
