Job summary

CLA is currently seeking a Banking and Specialty Finance Tax Manager/Director to join—and ultimately help lead—our Financial Services Tax practice. This role is designed for a strategic, growth-minded individual who will help to guide the long-term direction, talent development, and client strategy of the group.

The role will consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning, lead tax engagements, and train team members to build inspired careers while expanding

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in tax at a public accounting firm.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA required; JD or EA may be accepted in place of CPA.
• Deep understanding of tax issues affecting banks, insurance, investment funds, and specialty finance entities.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 740, partnership taxation, REITs, and financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clients on business processes such as succession and tax planning.
• Lead, schedule, supervise, and review tax engagements.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Foster and build opportunities for our clients, communities, and people.
• Become an industry professional and attend industry-leading events and trainings.
• Perform a range of tax procedures in accordance with the size and complexity of the engagement.
• Review complex individual and corporate tax returns.
