Bacardi is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead statutory tax compliance and accounting for NAM entities, based in Miami, FL. You will collaborate with finance, legal, HR and the shared service center to standardize processes and drive automation improvements.
The role requires deep US federal/state tax knowledge, UNICAP, transfer pricing, and US GAAP reporting. You will oversee tax provisions, returns, TP and audits while mentoring Tax Seniors in a fast-paced global setting.
You will lead the Statutory Tax Compliance and Accounting for the Company’s NAM operational entities. You will work together with the rest of the NAM Tax Team delivering against the objectives to strengthen the process, enable more standardization and opportunity for continual improvement to achieve a level of greater assurance the Company’s North American Hub remains in full compliance with all relevant tax obligations. The NAM Hub includes the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. You will develop a full understanding of current compliance posture, the processes that support Statutory Accounting, Corporate Income Tax, Sales and Use and country specific local tax reporting compliance to ensure timely and accurate compliance for NAM entities. You will work closely and partner with the Company’s shared service team and their processes that form the basis for the Statutory Accounting and Tax Reporting and the means by which each NAM affiliate accesses the relevant financial and other data. Key objectives also include formulating requirements to deliver improved automation of tax processes in coordination with the Senior Tax Manager – Global Shared Services. This role will require you to be able to juggle additional tasks including the timely and accurate forecasting and periodic tax financial reporting, administering of transfer pricing, supporting tax audit and controversy resolution and assisting with tax strategy and business support in the NAM Hub under the direction and responsibility of the Senior Tax Manager – North America and other members of the Global Tax team. You will be based in Miami, Florida.
Drive Results and excellence in execution of NAM Tax Compliance 1) Ensure the accurate and timely filings of the U.S. Federal, State/Local for various NAM entities Ongoing connection with business partners (finance, legal, HR, Commercial, etc.) to ensure current knowledge of non-recurring events, changes in the business, and impact on taxes Ensure accurate statutory financial reporting throughout the year Review book results and various journal entries for analysis of book to tax adjustments Interface with various finance teams and shared service center resources to ensure thorough understanding of statutory results and reporting of tax sensitive transactions Review income tax provisions and ensure the accurate posting of entries Review federal, state and provincial income tax returns prepared in income tax software and respond to any comments from external advisors Review analysis of book to tax differences, tax return working papers (including calculations for UNICAP, BEAT, CAMT and international tax forms), investigate material discrepancies between year-end tax accounting and tax returns Oversee collection of fixed asset data for book purposes and work with external advisors to prepare Federal and State tax depreciation reports Deliver timely analysis and response to matters identified by the Senior Tax Manager on consolidated or separate tax returns Review Forms 1042 and 1099 for U.S. entities ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements Prepare and/or review filing adjustments to state returns for federal audit adjustments Conduct tax research on specific federal and state income tax issues Keep up to date on relevant U.S. tax compliance legal and procedural developments Support other tax compliance and projects, as required 2) Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of tax financial reporting submissions Prepare accurate and timely tax accounting submissions Prepare tax reporting packages and entries for various entities for the submission of the following: Budgets, latest estimates and quarterly reporting Complete supporting documentation in compliance of SOX procedures Prepare and/or review the annual transfer pricing, tax provision, and footnote for inclusion in the audited financial statements of the Puerto Rican entities, including coordination with local finance to address any post–year-end adjustments to the statutory financial statements 3) Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of federal, state, provincial estimated tax payment. 4) Support indirect tax compliance as required (i.e., sales and use tax, beverage tax, Canadian GST/HST/QST, and other non-income tax) Successful Resolution of Tax Audits Assist in federal and state income tax audits, as needed Gather and analyze information in response to IDRs, draft clear and comprehensive written responses, develop and assess audit strategy with senior tax manager Consistent and Accurate Transfer Pricing Review TP adjustments quarterly, annually prepared by local finance. Advise on any changes in TP target/calculation, approve adjustment, and ensure entry is posted correctly so that entity is in line with expected earnings targets, including any relevant brandowner recharges. Prepare budgeted transfer pricing("TP") segmentations, actual TP results versus targets, necessary TP information for 3rd party annual TP report preparers, review annual TP reports. Ensure business changes and impact on transfer pricing are timely considered and properly executed including intercompany agreements, recharges amongst legal entities, new TP segments and other supporting documentation and consulting with external advisors as needed. Develop Talent and Capability Provide leadership and continuous coaching in order to ensure high-performance behavior and results of Tax Seniors. Build and foster a solid business partnership with NAM Finance and functional leads, Global Tax team members, Shared Service Center, and across all other departments.
