Job summary

BDO is seeking an entry-level Tax Associate to support clients with tax compliance and reporting. You will reference tax rules, prepare simple returns, and assist with extensions and notices, while maintaining quality according to the TQM.

You'll collect data, organize files, and use tax software and Microsoft Office to draft documents. Collaboration with the team is essential, and pursuing CPA credentials is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting; pursuing CPA preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax compliance and reporting while following firm policies.
• Use referencing systems and workpapers tied to tax returns.
• Complete tasks and organize files to minimize rework by reviewers.
• Collect data to comply with filing requirements and manage due dates.
• Work with tax software to prepare simple tax returns for review.
• Perform quarterly estimates and prepare extensions.
• Assist with IRS notices and year-end filings.
• Apply ASC 740 tax accruals and assist income tax provisions.
