BDO USA is seeking a Tax Intern for Core Tax Services. You will use your accounting education and organizational skills to prepare returns and extensions under supervision, gaining hands-on experience within our tax practice and client service culture.

The role emphasizes collaboration with experienced staff and development of core tax compliance skills, with opportunities to learn tax software and industry specifics. Eligible students pursuing accounting degrees are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Masters program in Accounting or related field.
• Pursuing a master's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office—Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of tax returns and extensions under supervision.
• Support tax compliance efforts and utilize reference materials and workpapers.
• Works with tax software to complete simple tax returns for review.
• Assist with ASC 740/FAS 109 and FIN 48 tax accruals components.
• Respond to routine notices from the IRS and monitor tax law developments.
