Seyfarth Shaw LLP, based in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a transactional tax associate with at least 2 years of big‑law experience to join our Tax-Exempt Organizations Practice Group in Downtown Los Angeles.

Candidates with nonprofit/tax-exempt advisory experience and CA Bar admission are encouraged to apply. LLM in Taxation preferred but not required. We offer a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualificações

• At least 2 years of transactional tax experience at a big law firm.
• Experience with nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations preferred.
• Admission to the California Bar is required.
• LLM in Taxation is preferred but not required.
• Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills, and verbal and written communication are expected.

Responsabilidades

• Draft and review transaction documents and related board materials, IRS submissions, and client advisories for nonprofit mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, conversions, spin-offs, and other transactions.
• Support nonprofit and tax-exempt clients on tax compliance, unrelated business income, private inurement, intermediate sanctions, executive compensation, governance, and charitable giving issues.
• Work directly with partners and clients on sophisticated matters across healthcare, education, research, and mission-driven sectors.
