The Tax Director will lead technical tax reviews, serve as a subject matter expert, oversee client service, and mentor staff while ensuring timely, within-budget delivery on complex tax engagements across diverse industries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA license required.
• 7–10 years of public accounting with demonstrated tax complexity, scope and research.
• Minimum 1 year supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
• Active CPA license in good standing with the American Institute of CPAs.
• Minimum 40 hours of continuing education annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review and approval of all tax returns and governmental examinations.
• Serve as SME in discipline or industry.
• Manage client service and ensure assignments are completed within budgeted time.
• Oversee large tax returns and delegate to staff as needed.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning with larger clients.
• Coach and develop senior, semi-senior and staff accountants.
• Communicate tax developments to firm personnel.
