MDS Staffing seeks a Tax Director for a well-established regional CPA firm in Washington. The role oversees tax reviews, client service, and planning for diverse SEC and closely held clients, with a pathway to Partnership and strong on-time billings.

Candidates should have 7–10 years in public accounting, a CPA license, and ability to supervise staff while leading tax matters. The firm offers substantial bonuses and a 5% 401(k) employer match within a balanced work-life culture.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of experience in public accounting with escalating tax complexity.
• Experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Minimum one year supervising/t directing tax preparers.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s in taxation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tax review and approval of returns and examinations.
• Serve as SME in discipline or industry.
• Manage client service and ensure timely completion within budget.
• Supervise larger tax returns and delegate to staff as needed.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning for large clients.
• Guide staff on tax issues and train junior employees.
• Ensure billing and collections are accurate and timely.
• Stay current on tax developments affecting clients.
• Travel for client meetings, offices, and seminars.
