A well established regional CPA firm is seeking a Tax Director to oversee tax operations and client service across diverse industries. The role offers strong work-life balance, excellent benefits, and potential bonuses with a 5% employer 401K match.

The Tax Director will review complex returns, serve as an expert, supervise staff, and participate in planning for large clients. Occasional travel and overtime during peak season are expected.

Qualifikationen

• Seven to ten years experience in public accounting.
• Experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
• Master’s degree in taxation preferred.
• Minimum of forty hours of continuing education per year to maintain skills.
• CPA license is required; active status with AICPA is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Perform technical review and approval of complex tax returns and examinations.
• Act as a subject matter expert in tax discipline or industry.
• Manage client service and ensure tasks are completed within budgeted time.
• Oversee large tax returns and delegate to tax staff as needed.
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning with larger clients.
• Mentor and coach tax staff; support recruiting and training.
• Ensure accurate billing and collections for tax services.
• Stay updated on tax developments affecting clients and firm.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Master’s degree in taxation

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) membership

40 hours continuing education annually
