Job summary

The Recruiting Hive seeks a Tax Director in the United States to lead tax practice across diverse clients, from SEC to closely held firms. You will drive tax strategy, oversee large returns, and coach staff to develop technical excellence while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years of public accounting tax experience with increasing complexity.
• Two+ years representing clients before taxing authorities.
• At least one year supervising and directing tax preparers.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s in taxation preferred.
• Minimum 40 hours of continuing education annually.
• Current valid CPA license; AICPA membership in good standing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tax review and approve returns and examinations.
• Serve as SME in discipline or industry for tax issues.
• Ensure client assignments are completed within budgeted time.
• Mentor and train tax staff and develop training aids.
• Lead client meetings and assist in tax planning for large clients.
• Represent clients before authorities when needed.
• Maintain familiarity with staff qualifications and development.
