• Identify processes that can benefit from automation or changes to reduce manual dependencies.
• Lead and document special projects as assigned by the Tax Operations manager.
• Learn source data for tax lot maintenance within client's systems using FIS tools and enterprise database (EDB).
• Collaborate with the Department Manager and Senior Project Manager on process improvements.

Our enterprise financial services client has a consulting opportunity for a Data and Tax Operational Consultant to help support a tax department.

Our enterprise financial services client has a consulting opportunity for a Data and Tax Operational Consultant to help support a tax department. Candidate should have excellent Excel skills and be prepared for mandatory overtime from January to March including Saturdays(remote). A strong interest in financial services back office operations is highly perferred for this role. location: Edison, New Jersey job type: Contract salary: $30 - 34 per hour work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Responsible for conducting side-by-side reviews of two core data sets to identify, document, and resolve discrepancies across feeds. Work individually and within small groups to obtain, update and validate client tax cost (Lot) information.
• Perform daily reconciliation of dual data streams, systematically identifying discrepancies and investigating root causes to maintain high data accuracy
• Identify processes that can benefit from automation or specific changes to reduce manual dependencies related to tax cost input into clients' systems.
• Lead, manage, and document special projects as assigned by the Tax Operations manager.
• Learn source data specific to tax lot maintenance within client's systems and tables using tools specific to FIS tools and enterprise database (EDB).
• Work closely with the Department Manager and Senior Project Manager on various process improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 1-2 years financial industry experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - dealing with various business and operational units
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, familiar with the Microsoft suite of products Outlook, Word, & Access
• Basic knowledge of PL/SQL, preferred
• FIS Global Plus experience is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
• Solid work ethic, disciplined, task-focused, and able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Ability to work in an agile team environment and collaborate closely with various teams to solve problems and understand

The Essential Functions Of This Role Include

• working up to 10 to 15 hrs of overtime per week
• working weekends (Saturday remote)
