Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to oversee global information reporting and withholding tax policy, including FATCA, CRS, CARF and 1099 compliance. You will collaborate with product, Finance and legal teams to evaluate new products for reporting requirements and implement policy accordingly.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of tax experience, a JD, and admission to practice law. You will provide risk-based guidance, mentor junior attorneys, and help strengthen PayPal's

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant tax experience.
• JD degree or foreign equivalent.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting business operations, transactions, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop technical tax analyses supporting planning strategies, reporting positions, audit defense, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives in a tax-efficient and compliant manner.
• Identify tax risk exposures and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with outside advisors where appropriate and manage discrete external engagements.
• May mentor junior attorneys or legal professionals and contribute to knowledge development within the tax function.
