Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting and withholding tax policy compliance across products, processes, and procedures. The role involves evaluating new or updated products for reporting impacts and drafting or revising policies in partnership with cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will advise on complex tax matters, document technical analyses, and mentor junior attorneys.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience.
• Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting operations, transactions, and initiatives.
• Develop technical tax analyses to support planning, reporting, audit defense and compliance.
• Collaborate with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives tax-efficiently.
• Identify tax risk exposures and recommend mitigations aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance.
• Coordinate with outside advisors and manage external engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys or legal professionals and contribute to knowledge within tax.
