Job summary

The State of Maryland - COMP Compliance Division in Baltimore, MD seeks a supervisor to lead auditors in the Federal Match and related programs within the Individual Nexus Unit. You will guide training, interpretation of income tax laws, and management of correspondence and call-center activities.

Qualified candidates have extensive auditing or tax experience and strong leadership skills to oversee operations and improve program effectiveness in a government setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of professional work experience in auditing, accounting, tax law, general management, or customer service.
• Substitutions: associate degree for 2 years; bachelor's degree for 4 years; 30 college credits for 1 year; CPA; military service; foreign credential evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to auditors in the Federal Match and other income generating programs in the Individual Nexus Unit.
• Train and assist auditors in interpreting and applying Maryland income tax laws related to returns, audits, and non-filer programs.
• Monitor the phone system in a call center environment and assign correspondence to agents.
