The Internal Audit Supervisor position with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources conducts and oversees internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and management studies to evaluate program performance. The role supervises audits of finance, compliance, economy and efficiency, and program results across the department's financial and accounting systems. The position develops and mentors internal auditors and is located in Annapolis, Maryland.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent with 30 credit hours in accounting and 3 in auditing.
• At least five years of experience conducting financial and operational internal audits.
• CPA, CIA, or CGFM certification preferred.
• Experience with government audits and staff supervision.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university or Bachelor's degree with 30 credit hours in accounting and related courses including 3 credit hours in auditing
• Five years of experience conducting financial and operational internal audits including finance and compliance, economy and efficiency, and program results
• CPA, CIA, or CGFM certification preferred
• Experience conducting government audits, preferably for the State of Maryland
• Experience developing and executing audit plans and supervising staff
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Gemini, and Notebook
