Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP in California is seeking Tax/Audit Interns for our Sacramento, Walnut Creek, and San Francisco locations. The internship begins January 2028 and ends April 2028, offering hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, audits, and client support within a collaborative CLA culture.

You will work with experienced teams to learn procedures, assist in research, manage engagements on schedule and budgets, and develop industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to client needs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Windows and Office).

Responsibilities

• Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns.
• Perform audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge through peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.
