Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Tax Associate in New York to assist customers with tax preparation, filing, and related inquiries via phone, video, and chat. You will act as a trusted advisor, leveraging tax knowledge, product expertise, and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate returns and superior customer experiences.

You will review returns, identify errors or savings opportunities, and guide customers through TurboTax features while maintaining compliance and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of paid tax preparation experience.
• Minimum 30 federal and state individual 1040 tax returns prepared.
• Active PTIN required.
• Knowledge of federal individual income tax returns.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Must be available to work during peak (April 10-15).

Responsibilities

• Provide customer tax support via phone, video, and chat. Explain forms, deductions, credits, and filing requirements.
• Maintain quality and productivity; meet tNPS, SQS, productivity, and satisfaction goals.
• Review customer tax returns for accuracy and identify potential tax-savings opportunities.
• Deliver product expertise on TurboTax products; guide users through features and filing.
• Explain tax concepts and outcomes clearly to build trust and confidence.
• Document customer interactions and resolutions in required systems.
• Protect confidentiality; comply with security, privacy, and policies; complete required training.
• Support peak season operations with schedule adherence and flexibility.
