Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Tax Associate to help customers with tax preparation, filing, and questions across phone, video, and messaging channels. You will act as a trusted advisor, explaining tax concepts, guiding through TurboTax features, reviewing returns, and documenting interactions while upholding privacy and compliance.

This role supports peak season operations and requires 2+ years of paid tax prep experience, active PTIN, and availability during April 10–15.

Qualifications

• 2+ years paid tax preparation experience
• 30+ federal and state 1040 tax returns prepared
• Active PTIN required
• Knowledge of federal individual income tax returns
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Must be available to work during peak (April 10-15)

Responsibilities

• Provide customer tax support and guidance via phone, video, and chat, including explanations of forms, deductions, credits, and filing requirements
• Maintain quality and productivity targets for tNPS, SQS, utilization, and customer satisfaction
• Review customer tax returns for accuracy and identify potential errors or tax-saving opportunities
• Deliver product expertise on TurboTax products and assist with tax filing process
• Educate customers on tax concepts and outcomes in a clear, empathetic manner
• Document customer interactions, resolutions, and case details in required systems
• Ensure compliance with security, privacy, regulatory and company policies; complete required training
• Support peak season operations with schedule adherence and flexibility
