Job summary

BDO is seeking a Tax Associate for Core Tax Services in California to assist with tax return preparation and research, applying basic research skills and tax software to complete simple returns for review.

The role covers tax compliance, ASC 740, and tax consulting. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or statistics and CPA progression are preferred; strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or statistics; CPA certification required or authorization to test before start date.
• Master’s in accountancy or taxation preferred.
• Accounting internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tax compliance filings and data collection.
• Prepare and review income tax provisions.
• Develop and implement efficient methods to minimize client taxes.
• Draft clear memorandums and correspondence.
• Identify relevant tax issues or opportunities during compliance.
• Collaborate with senior staff to complete projects.
