Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Tax Experienced Senior in Core Tax Services in California. You will apply tax foundations, gather client information, participate in planning, and supervise Core Tax Services Associates.

You will act as the main client contact for general questions and ensure timely delivery in a fast-paced tax environment. Responsibilities include tax compliance, research, ASC 740 considerations, and providing guidance on tax consulting strategies to reduce client taxes.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required (or CPA track)
• Master’s in accountancy or taxation preferred
• CPA, Attorney, or EA preferred or equivalent
• Proficiency with tax research databases and tax compliance software preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensures client tax compliance while minimizing tax and reporting burdens and adheres to firm policies and the Tax Quality Manual
• Manages projects by planning the tax process, budgeting, and scheduling resources
• Answers preparer questions and coordinates engagement from onset with preparers
• Conducts detailed reviews of returns and prepares review notes for preparers
• Identifies book-to-tax differences and discusses uncertain positions with the team
• Develops tax provision memos and drafts footnote disclosures as required
