Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Tax Associate for its Business Tax Services practice in an early-career track. The role supports tax planning, compliance, and consulting for high-profile clients, with opportunities to work with a network of specialists.

The position emphasizes developing the use of AI, Alteryx, and Power BI, alongside traditional tax processes. Summer/Fall 2026 intake, with CPA eligibility pursued and on-site collaboration in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed: bachelor’s/master’s in business, accounting, finance, taxation, mathematics, economics, IT, data analytics or engineering.
• Must be pursuing CPA eligibility in the state where the office is located or have completed required credits prior to start date.
• Preferred GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Coursework in information systems, software engineering, CS or data analytics preferred.
• Strong technical and business acumen, critical thinking and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with tax planning, compliance and consulting needs.
• Supervise and allocate work of team members and interns.
• Prepare/review tax provisions for financial statements with audit coordination.
• Analyze and review tax workpapers, returns, estimated payments and extensions.
• Research and draft technical memoranda for compliance projects.
• Respond to IRS and other authorities including tax controversy support.
• Develop capabilities in AI, Alteryx, Power BI for client service delivery.
• Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to sustain client relationships.
• Keep up to date on tax technical developments.
