Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to help clients navigate complex tax and business services, prepare accurate returns, uncover savings, and build lasting relationships in-person at a local Block Advisors office.

You will interview clients, handle diverse tax situations, offer personalized recommendations, provide IRS support, and work with the team to maintain a client-focused office environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns.
• Strong client-facing advisory experience; communicates clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications - then provide clear, personalized recommendations
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant Block Advisors products and services
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
