Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to expertly prepare tax returns and guide clients through complex tax scenarios in a local Block Advisors office.

You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and provide trusted recommendations with strong training and tools. You will deliver individualized service, support tax notices, and work with team members to maintain a client-focused environment while advancing your tax expertise and career within the Block

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations, including individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
