Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year‑round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to prepare complete returns for individuals and businesses. You will interview clients, identify tax savings opportunities, and recommend Block Advisors services, delivering empathetic, consultative service in a local office.

You will use industry-leading training and technology, participate in incentive plans, and provide IRS support as needed to build lasting client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in tax preparation and advisory roles with client-facing duties.
• Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to clients.
• Commitment to continuing education and IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications — then provide clear, personalized recommendations
• Build trusted, year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant Block Advisors products and services
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
