Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is hiring a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare comprehensive tax returns and guide clients through complex tax situations. You will interview clients, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting relationships with supportive training and technology.

This is an in-person role at a local Block Advisors office. You will deliver client-focused service, advise on Block Advisors products, and provide audit support and tax notice guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual & business returns with tax planning.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; can explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications.
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance.
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office.
