Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for clients with diverse tax needs. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver consultative service backed by strong training and technology. This is an in-person role at a local Block Advisors office.

You will build lasting client relationships, provide IRS support, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive office culture and growth in tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including planning, audit support, and notices.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financial situations and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and opportunities for tax savings.
• Deliver IRS support, notices, and audit guidance when needed.
