Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and provide personalized recommendations. You will build trusted, year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities while promoting Block Advisors products and services.

Qualifications

• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS and state requirements.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain tax concepts clearly.
• H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment completion required.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations (individual and business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and provide personalized recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and relevant Block Advisors products/services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
