Job summary

H&R Block in the United States seeks year-round Block Advisors to prepare complete tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations, including individuals and businesses. You will interview clients, offer personalized recommendations, and build lasting relationships.

This in-person role provides hands-on training and access to industry-leading technology, along with an incentive plan that rewards your impact as you grow tax expertise and serve clients.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide personalized recommendations
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products/services
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
