Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Tax Advisor (Block Advisor) in Jacksonville, FL. This in-person role focuses on preparing complete tax returns for clients with complex situations, interviewing clients to understand finances, and delivering personalized recommendations.

You’ll identify tax savings opportunities and support clients with IRS notices and audits as needed. You will work with a team in a local Block Advisors office, building trusted relationships through empathetic, consultative

Qualifications

Completed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly.
Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
