Job summary

Prager Metis CPAs LLC in New York seeks a CPA-eligible candidate to join our tax team and support individual and business tax services. You will assist in preparing tax returns, extensions, and quarterly payments, and help with payroll filings and notices.

The role offers flexible work arrangements and solid career growth in a collaborative, mentorship-focused environment. Qualified applicants have a accounting degree and CPA progress; internship is a plus.

Qualifications

• CPA eligibility or pursuing CPA
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting
• Prior internship experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of tax returns, extensions, quarterly estimated tax payments
• Assist with creating and requesting checks and mailing federal and state estimated tax vouchers
• Preparation of household employer payroll tax filings
• Process electronic filing of tax returns
• Maintain tax refunds ledger
• Gain/Loss review and comparison
• Maintain tax database for tracking of all client deadlines and filings
• Tax reporting system data maintenance
• Printing, collation and mailing of tax returns to clients
• Scanning/organizing electronic tax docs
• Printing and mailing notices to the IRS and State agencies
