Job summary

Prager Metis CPAs in New York is hiring a qualified accounting professional to support tax preparation, payroll filings, and tax compliance. The role offers a flexible work environment, including remote/WFH/hybrid arrangements on select roles, with a starting salary range disclosed.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting and be pursuing CPA eligibility, with internship experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CPA or working toward CPA eligibility.
• Must meet the credit requirement for CPA eligibility.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting.
• Prior internship experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of tax returns, extensions, quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Assist with creating and requesting checks and mailing federal and state estimated tax vouchers.
• Preparation of household employer payroll tax filings.
• Process electronic filing of tax returns.
• Maintain tax refunds ledger.
• Gain/Loss review and comparison.
• Maintain tax database for tracking of all client deadlines and filings.
• Tax reporting system data maintenance.
• Printing, collation and mailing of tax returns to clients.
• Scanning/organizing electronic tax docs.
• Printing and mailing notices to the IRS and State agencies.
