Job summary

Cedric's Tavern at Biltmore in Asheville, NC, seeks a Sous Chef to assist the Restaurant Chef in daily kitchen operations, menus, and events. You will help manage staff, uphold standards, and drive profit through cost control and quality service.

The role involves training apprentices, collaborating with clients, and ensuring food safety and sanitation across shifts. A sign-on bonus up to $2,500 is offered with the offer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; culinary degree/certification preferred.
• Minimum five years of culinary management experience in full-service dining or upscale hotel/resort.
• Experience with inventory, cost controls, and P&L reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and guest-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and operating the kitchen to meet service standards.
• Support hiring, training, and development of kitchen staff.
• Schedule staff according to budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and food quality, value, and timeliness.
• Control food costs through smart purchasing, pricing, and portioning.
