Job summary

McPrice Myers Wines is seeking a wine-focused team member to ensure a positive guest experience in Paso Robles. You will greet customers, guide selections, and assist with packing orders and POS transactions. You will describe wines and winery history while promoting both wine and non-wine products.

Virtual tastings are also part of the role. The position runs from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, with weekends and holidays required, and offers benefits for full-time staff; part-time roles receive some

Job description

This position is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience at McPrice Myers. You must have a passion for wine and a desire to learn the details of the wines we produce.

Responsibilities include: greeting customers promptly and courteously; guiding customers to wines they enjoy; setting up and cleaning up daily operations; packing orders for pickup and shipment; and accurately performing money-handling procedures. Promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products. Describing wines, winemaking techniques, winery history, and providing general tourist information. Conducting virtual tasting appointments. The work schedule is from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm at a minimum.

• Excellent people skills; able to project a friendly and helpful manner at all times
• Able to perform quality work efficiently with minimal supervision
• Greets all visitors to the winery and pours wines for tasting
• Effectively suggests and sells wine to customers
• Assists customers with transporting wine to their vehicles
• Describes wines and winery history to customers
• Sets up and cleans up daily operations, including side work
• Conducts virtual tasting appointments
• Answers visitors' questions and can provide general tourist information
• Handles routine purchasing transactions, which include operating the POS system
• Acquires and maintains a thorough knowledge of the winery and our wines
• Accurately packs wine shipments for both on- and off-premise orders
• Works in a team environment and is open to performing other duties as assigned

• Compensation: $20-25/hour to start, plus tips and bonuses. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits; part-time employees are eligible for some benefits.
