This position is responsible for providing leadership in the financial area of the hotel by guiding, training, and supervising the accounting staff until a permanent Director of Finance is hired. It is a remote role requiring significant travel across Highgate’s footprint. The Director of Finance - Task Force acts as the hotel’s senior finance person during vacancy periods, overseeing fiscal management, financial controls, accounting, and reporting. The role also involves training new Directors of Finance.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing all financial reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
• Monitoring hotel revenues and expenses, ensuring accurate recording and compliance.
• Communicating with stakeholders about financial performance and addressing concerns.
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and managing capital expenses.
• Analyzing financial data to advise management and support financial objectives.
• Managing staff, including hiring, supervision, and training.
• Ensuring timely financial reporting and audits.
• Participating in meetings to promote team morale and efficiency.

Qualifications include:

• A 4-year degree in Accounting/Finance with at least 4 years of related experience, or an 8-year experience with a 2-year degree.
• Experience as a Director of Finance in a large hotel with decentralized accounting.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% and work long hours when necessary.
• Supervisory experience with three or more employees.
• Proficiency in Oracle and IBM TM1 software.
