Position Summary:
The Director of Finance oversees the implementation of strategies to support financial and business objectives in the Research department. This role is the primary financial lead for research activities at Children's Health, advising on research financial administration best practices. The role involves maintaining relationships with principal investigators, physicians, the research community, and other stakeholders to achieve departmental goals. The individual will identify initiatives to improve financial efficiency by reducing expenses and increasing revenue, participate in research administration training, develop team members, and manage ad hoc projects.
Highlighted Responsibilities:
Staff Management: Manage Financial Analysts, assign duties, evaluate performance, and oversee hiring and termination decisions.
Financial Management: Analyze financial performance, monitor variances, oversee budgeting, and support operational and capital planning.
Operational Management: Ensure process alignment with division goals, support budget creation, and monitor regulatory changes in research billing.
This is a full-time, primarily remote position, with occasional travel required.
Work Experience: Minimum 10 years in Finance and Research Operations/Administration.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Certified Research Administrator preferred.
