Job summary

QinetiQ US is seeking a Site Manager to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program. You will oversee multiple operational sites along the U.S.

border, coordinating with flight directors, logistics, and PMO for maintenance and upgrades. The role requires travel to sites, management of real property and equipment, and ensuring maintenance timelines align with flight operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related field required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of aerostat operations experience.
• Ability to obtain certified in-flight operation roles.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s license required.
• Proof of U.S. residency required.
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Successful completion of Background Investigation with favorable suitability determination.

Responsibilities

• Obtain training and certification as flight director.
• Manage all aspects of facility site maintenance, logistics and scheduling.
• Support on-shift Flight Director during Launch and Recovery operations as needed.
• Serve as function manager for all required maintenance that does not impact flight operations.
• Coordinate with on-site logisticians and PMO procurement for deliveries at each site.
• Maintain inventories of Government Furnished Material, tools, and repair parts.
• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of real property and related systems.
• Coordinate maintenance of civil, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems at sites.
• Coordinate subcontracted work to meet schedule, budget and scope.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on aerostat subsystems and associated hardware.
• Develop the SOW for site modifications with photos, sketches, and parts lists.
