Job summary

QinetiQ US in Deming, NM seeks an experienced Flight Director to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection TARS program, operating eight sites across the southern border including Puerto Rico, Florida, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. You will be the single point of contact on your shift, managing Aerostat flight operations and coordinating with the TARS Control Center and Central operations centers.

Qualifications

• 5 years' aerostat experience; 2 Supervisory.
• High school graduate; 16 hours of formal Weather Observation training.
• Prior certification on TARS aerostats a plus.
• Security clearance: NAC.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Physical requirements and shift variability.

Responsibilities

• Acts as single point-of-contact and control over Aerostat mission support during assigned shift.
• Maintains current weather status and trends influencing mission support.
• Coordinates with TARS Control Center and meteorological facilities.
• Records flight logs and weight/balance data for operational aerostat.
• Supervises flight operations and maintenance crew during shift.
