Job summary

Wastequip in Houston, TX seeks an Installer/Service Technician to install, repair, maintain, and assemble electric and hydraulic tarp systems and related truck equipment. This hands-on role requires reading installation instructions, performing mechanical and electrical repairs, and utilizing welding techniques when needed, all while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, with the ability to lift heavy components, work at heights, and operate

Qualifications

• Must fluently speak, read, and write English.
• Equivalent of a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Truck Equipment, Waste Equipment or related industry a plus.
• Experience with Hydraulic Equipment installations and repairs a plus.
• Welding and/or fabrication skills not required but helpful.
• Ability to read and interpret installation instructions and sales orders.
• Willing to work overtime or contract work outside regular hours if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets installation instructions and repair orders.
• Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage and materials.
• Performs installation, repairs and maintenance on electric and hydraulic tarping systems.
• Assembles parts for shipping and/or installation using BOMs.
• Gathers parts from warehouse and assembles to make assemblies for shipping and installation.
• Performs safety checks and uses PPE as required.
• Lifts heavy assemblies up to 100 lbs and works at heights.
