Job summary

Wastequip is seeking an Installer/Service Technician for the Houston, TX Tarps division to install, repair, maintain, and assemble electric and hydraulic tarping systems and related truck equipment.

The role requires reading instructions, basic mechanical/electrical repairs, fabrication and welding if needed, and adherence to safety and quality standards. A team‑oriented approach and ability to lift up to 100 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• Must fluently speak, read, and write English.
• Equivalent of high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Truck Equipment, Waste Equipment or related industry is a plus.
• Experience with Hydraulic Equipment installations and repairs is a plus.
• Welding or fabrication skills not required but helpful.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret installation instructions and repair orders.
• Complete paperwork for vehicle repairs and parts usage.
• Install, repair and maintain electric and hydraulic tarping systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic electrical work; welding may be required.
• Select proper tools and materials to perform tasks safely and with high quality.
• Lift assemblies up to 100 lbs and work at heights up to 12'–14' on lifts or ladders.
