Job summary

Wastequip is seeking an Installer/Service Technician for our Houston, TX Tarps division to install, repair, maintain and assemble electric and hydraulic tarp systems and related truck equipment. The role requires reading installation instructions, performing basic mechanical and electrical repairs, and using fabrication techniques as needed, with safety and high quality standards emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must fluently speak, read, and write English.
• Equivalent of a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience with Truck Equipment or Waste Equipment is a plus.
• Experience with Hydraulic Equipment installations and repairs is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret installation instructions and sales orders.
• Willing to work overtime or contract work outside regular hours if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets installation instructions and repair orders.
• Completes paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage and other materials.
• Performs installation, repairs and maintenance on electric and hydraulic tarping systems.
• Typical repairs include routine maintenance and repair of electric and hydraulic tarping systems, simple electrical installation and repair, possible structural welding, repair and replacement of parts.
• Uses Bill Of Materials lists to gather parts and assemble for shipping/installation.
• Can read a tape measure in 16ths of an inch.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as directed by Lead Installer or Plant Manager.
• Ability to lift assemblies up to 100 lbs.
