Job summary

Danfoss in the United States is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to be a strategic partner for customers and sales teams, guiding them through tariffs, import requirements, and duty optimization opportunities.

You will lead tariff mitigation projects, including Section 232 exemptions and Free Trade Agreement opportunities, translating complex regulations into cost-saving strategies for customers and Danfoss.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in international trade compliance, customs, or related field.
• Experience with Section 232 tariffs, duty optimization programs, and country-of-origin determinations.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for advising customers and sales teams.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel; ability to turn trade data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience with SAP or GTM is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary trade compliance partner for customers, guiding on tariffs, import requirements, and duty optimization opportunities.
• Identify, evaluate, and lead tariff mitigation strategies including Section 232 exemptions and FTAs to deliver cost savings.
• Collaborate with Sales and Commercial teams to support negotiations and business reviews with customers.
• Translate complex trade data into clear, actionable business recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with customs brokers and internal logistics teams to ensure compliant import activities.
