Vallarta Supermarkets is hiring a Taquero to prepare food orders, assist cooks, and ensure quality and presentation. You will greet customers, handle payments, and support sales through suggestive selling in a fast-paced taquería setting.

Ideal candidates have prior cook or prep helper experience, basic English, and a safety-conscious mindset. Flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays are required, with opportunities for growth in a vibrant community-focused store.

Qualifications

• Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
• Familiarity with Taquería equipment and tools.
• Basic understanding of English.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented, respectful and professional attitude.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide outstanding, prompt service.
• Prepare food orders consistently in portion, quality and appearance.
• Only prepare food orders that have been paid for.
• Promote sales by suggestive selling of advertised specials.
• Assist cooks in gathering and preparing meats and other ingredients.
• Notify management when products or supplies are needed.
• Transport products to and from coolers and storage areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and report discrepancies to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow health codes and sanitation procedures.
• Follow company dress code and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
