Vallarta Supermarkets is hiring a Taquero to prepare food orders, assist cooks, and deliver friendly, fast service in a festive environment. You will ensure portions, quality, and presentation align with Vallarta’s standards, while maintaining safety and cleanliness.

Ideal candidates have basic English, a customer-service mindset, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position offers opportunities for growth within a dynamic grocery chain.

Qualifications

• Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
• Prior experience as a cook or prep helper preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide outstanding, prompt service.
• Prepare food orders consistently in portion, quality, and appearance to company standards.
• Only prepare food orders that have been paid for.
• Promote sales by suggestive selling of advertised specials.
• Assist cooks in gathering and preparing meats and other ingredients.
• Notify management when products or supplies are needed.
• Transport products to and from coolers and storage areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and report discrepancies to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work safely, using tools and equipment properly, and report issues immediately.
• Treat coworkers and customers respectfully; no profanity or obscene gestures.
• Follow all health codes, food safety practices, and sanitation procedures.
• Follow company dress code; change apron/smock as needed.
• Abide by all company rules and Employee Handbook policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
