Vallarta Supermarkets is hiring for a Taquero to join our fast-paced Taquería team in California. You will prepare food orders, assist cooks, and help ensure portions, quality, and presentation meet Vallarta’s standards while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, promoting specials, coordinating with cooks, and following health codes and safety procedures. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and follow health/sanitation rules.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and provide outstanding, prompt service.
• Prepare food orders consistently in portion, quality, and appearance to company standards.
• Only prepare food orders that have been paid for.
• Promote sales by suggestive selling of advertised specials.
• Assist cooks in gathering and preparing meats and other ingredients.
• Notify management when products or supplies are needed.
• Transport products to and from coolers and storage areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and report discrepancies to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work safely, using tools and equipment properly, and report issues immediately.
• Follow company dress code and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
