Vallarta Supermarkets in California is seeking a friendly Taqueria Cashier to provide fast, accurate service, handle payments, and ensure quality beverages. You will operate the cash register, balance the drawer, and promote our taqueria offerings while upholding food safety standards.

You should be 18+, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and flexible to work weekends and holidays in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Taqueria menu, foods, and beverages.
• Ability to count, handle money, and perform simple math accurately.
• Prior cashier or restaurant/fast food experience helpful.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be able to transfer to other locations within a reasonable commute.
• Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Smile, greet, and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Accurately record customer orders while promoting sales through suggestive selling.
• Operate cash register, scale, and equipment properly.
• Follow company cash handling and payment policies.
• Balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift.
• Maintain full knowledge of food and beverage menus.
• Prepare and serve agua frescas, juices, coffee, and champurrado.
• Clean agua fresca jars, juice machines, coffee carafes, and champurrado pots safely.
• Follow health codes, food safety standards, personal hygiene, and sanitation practices.
• Maintain work areas, floors, tables, and salsa bar clean and replenished.
• Work safely, use equipment correctly, and report issues immediately.
• Support coworkers, assist customers, and model teamwork.
• Treat coworkers and customers respectfully at all times.
• Follow dress code and store policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
