Job summary

Ergon Marine & Industrial Supply, Inc. is seeking a Tankerman at our Wood River, IL location. You will perform cargo transfers safely, follow Coast Guard and company regulations, and manage deckhand duties when not transferring cargo.

Qualifications

• U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's Document with PIC endorsement.
• TWIC card required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Able to swim.
• On-the-job training for barges.
• Approved for position by pilot and Marine Operations Manager.
• Must be able to swim.

Responsibilities

• Load and discharge liquid products from tank barges in a safe, efficient manner.
• Operate all barges' equipment including forklift.
• Know and apply cargo transfer regulations and oil pollution prevention requirements.
• Supervise hose connections/disconnections while on barge.
• Ensure firefighting equipment is aboard before loading/unloading.
