Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line is seeking a Vessel Tankerman to join our maritime operations team in support of safe liquid cargo transfers on our vessels. You will perform cargo transfer operations, execute pre-transfer inspections, and maintain accurate records while adhering to safety and environmental requirements.

This full-time role requires a current MMD Tankerman PIC (Barge) license, TWIC, and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid MMD Tankerman PIC (Barge) license endorsed by USCG.
• Must be able to read and write English and complete required transfer documents.
• Must maintain a TWIC credential and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Strong safety mindset with ability to operate transfer equipment and read gauges.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform cargo transfer operations safely and efficiently.
• Follow pre-transfer inspection requirements and complete Declaration of Inspection.
• Maintain and operate transfer equipment, hoses, pumps, and valves.
• Keep accurate records of cargo quantities, quality, and incidents.
• Coordinate with crew, shore personnel, and terminal operators to ensure smooth transfers.
• Respond to emergencies and follow procedures to protect personnel and environment.
• Apply environmental protection measures to prevent spills.
