Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a Tank Welder to support fabrication and assembly of enclosure components for generator fuel tanks and related assemblies. The position involves welding sheet metal, reading blueprints, and ensuring leak-free containment for diesel fuel systems.

The role requires 1+ year welding experience, ability to pass 3G/4G tests and pressure tests, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions with proper PPE. Pre-employment screenings apply.

Qualifications

• 1+ years welding experience.
• Must pass 3G/4G welding test.
• Must pass a pressure test.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must be able to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Weld sheet metal components for fuel tanks and assemblies.
• Operate welding equipment and hand tools.
• Read and interpret measurements from drawings and tapes.
• Prepare materials and fit components to tolerances.
• Follow blueprints and work instructions to complete projects as specified.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and wear PPE as required.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.
• Perform pressure tests and report defects.
