Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking a Tank Welder to support the fabrication and assembly of enclosure components for generator fuel tanks and related assemblies. You will weld sheet metal, read blueprints, measure precisely, and fit parts to tight tolerances in outdoor environments.

The role requires 1+ years of welding experience, the ability to pass 3G/4G and pressure tests, and compliance with PPE requirements. Night shifts and safety-focused teamwork are part of daily operations.

Qualifications

• 1+ years welding experience.
• Ability to pass 3G/4G welding test.
• Ability to pass a pressure test.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on sheet metal components for fuel tank fabrication.
• Read and interpret measurements using a tape measure.
• Prepare materials, mark, cut, grind, bevel and fit components.
• Follow blueprints and work instructions to meet specs.
• Lift and maneuver metal components safely.
• Perform pressure and leak tests on welds.
• Inspect welds, report defects and assist with rework.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and PPE compliance.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
